Somalia: Police Command Provides Preliminary Details of the Bombing in Mogadishu


The Somali police command has provided a preliminary description of the target of the explosion in Mogadishu this morning.

The explosion occurred on the outskirts of the Turkish Tax and Customs Enforcement Center in Hamar Jajab district, opposite the Mogadishu port.

Spokeswoman Saadak Adan Ali said police prevented the driver of the car from going into the compound and fired shots, as the car exploded outside the compound. Five policemen were injured in the attack, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, another explosion occurred in Baidoa this morning causing casualties and injuries, at least 7 civilians and soldiers were killed and about 10 others injured.
