In a related context, the police arrested 15 people in the background of the clashes that took place on Friday in the capital, New Delhi, following massive demonstrations.

The protests against the controversial nationality law continued in the state of Tamil Nandu, as well as in Batna of the northeastern state of Bihar, as workers protesters broke down barriers erected by the security services.

Indian authorities have instructed TV channels not to broadcast what they say are material “against national attitudes.”

And since 11 days, the Indian street has been boiling, since the clashes have not stopped since Parliament adopted the new law.

The Indian Parliament had adopted earlier this December, a new law to grant citizenship to children of minorities suffering religious persecution in 3 neighboring countries, if they entered India before December 31, 2014, but on condition that they are not Muslims, and these countries are: Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan .

Islamic groups, opposition and human rights organizations believe that the law is part of the program of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Hindu nationalist, to marginalize the Muslims in India, who number about 200 million people.
